Project Diversity started in 2013 as a collaborative photo project with the goals of promoting, discussing, and exploring the diversity within the walls of Hunter College High School. With the successful implementation of the school’s first ever Multicultural Night in 2016, Project Diversity made a lasting mark on the community. After the graduation of our founders, Meredith Pong (’16) and Shamsa Derrick (’16), we continue the legacy they created. Through our engagement with Hunter students, faculty, and alumni, we hope to promote the idea that everyone deserves respect not in spite of their differences but because of them.
